The price of electricity continues to rise and climbs on Tuesday to 287 euros/MWh, 7% more than on Monday. This is the highest price since 4 October, two months ago, when it was 289 euros. Moreover, since last Sunday, it has been above the 200 euro barrier for three consecutive days.
In the auction, the price of electricity in the wholesale market, the so-called pool, this Tuesday is 153.44 euros on average, according to provisional data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE). By hours, electricity will be cheapest between 07:00 and 09:00, when it will reach a minimum of 131.3 euros. It should be recalled that to this value must be added the provisional adjustment that the beneficiaries of the gas cap have to pay to compensate the gas plants, which this Tuesday will stand at 134 euros/MWh.
Taking this increase into account, electricity for this Tuesday is around 37% more expensive than a year ago, when it stood at 210 euros/MWh.
